Die Vryolopende Afrikaner
This project was created as a group project to be entered into the Pendoring Awards. Asked to create a campaign that addressed specifically an official language in South Africa, the team chose a Butchery called Impala Meats as the vehicle for such an idea. Using the typical stereotype of Afrikaans people being barefoot, we interpreted this as a “free-range" nature and incorporated the ideas into new packaging for the company alongside a video advertisement. The group, comically named “Eish!”, of which I was a part, won a Craft Gold award for this campaign at Pendoring 2024. Credits go to the wonderfully talented Ester Terblanche, Stefan Milos, and Taylor Rhoades for the visuals, and translations.
